Good Morning Village of Palmetto,
The Mayor has met with the Parish President, Mr. Jessie Bellard, to discuss the current flood concerns and monitoring efforts. At this time the parish is putting out flood gauges throughout the area to closely monitor water levels and track any changes as they occur.
We, here at the Village, are monitoring this event through all available resources and communications. Although there is NO current evacuation order in place for the Village of Palmetto, we encourage everyone to stay alert and stay informed. If any conditions change, we will notify residents as quickly as possible through all communication methods.
Sand bags are available at the town hall, behind the dentist office. You will need to bring your shovel to fill the bags.
