Puerto Rico Disaster Relief
Governor John Bel Edwards in coordination with the Governor's Office of Homeland Security & Emergency Prepardness are reaching out to the citizens of Louisiana to provide help to Puerto Rico which has been ravaged by hurricanes Irma and Maria. Disaster relief supplies will be colleced in parishes throughout the state and flown to Puerto Rico in October. Governor Edwards has spoken to the Governor of Puerto Rico and items of most need are supplies for babies, along with feminine hygiene products.
ACCEPTABLE NEEDED ITEMS:
- New Baby Bottles with Nipples/Bottles with Liners
- New Sippy Cups
- Diaper Cream
- Infant Formula(powder only) (no liquids please)
- Feminine Hygiene products (tampons/pads/panty liners
Please ensure all items are new in original packaging and unopened.
NO LIQUIDS, CLOTHES, FOOD ITEMS, WATER, OR MONITARY DONATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED.
The Village of Palmetto will deliver all donated items to the Opelousas Fire Department on October 10, 2017.
